One of the only remaining structures apparently not slated for demolition is the outpost here along the Nangang River. It seems to be a kind of riverside pavilion, or does it have some kind of management or supervision function? Does it have some kind of cultural significance?
The river walkway has been built just as the urban village behind was demolished, resulting in some excellent and attractive public spaces with relatively few people around to enjoy them at least during this interim period with the new highrises have not yet emerged phoenix like from the ashes of the village. Then again, some of the remaining residents said that they'd not yet received any compensation and there was a possibility the village would be re-opened for occupation. Given the state of the buildings and the commercial appeal of a metro station just 800m away (Nangang station, to the west) there's not much realistic prospect of this happening.
