Velkommen til det lille fiskeværet Reine i Lofoten og det som mest sannsynlig er Lofotens minste bibliotek.

Reine minibibliotek.
Dette sjarmerende lille gatebiblioteket kan ved første øyekast se ut som om at det har stått der i like mange hundre år som lofotfisket har pågått, og ligner vel mest av alt på på en mini rorbu for åndelig påfyll.
“En vakker rorbu i miniformat. Med torv på taket, små bokhyller og fine finesser – som en grånet åre, og en glassdør fra et gammelt vindu.” Slik omtalte avisa Lofot-tidende minibiblioteket i 2020.
Kunstnerparet Fransiska og Henrik som er aktitektene bak bygget, har sirlig sanket plankebiter og drivved som har blitt skylt i land langs Vest-Lofotens fjæresteiner. Biblioteket inneholder et bokrom, og et pantry-rom merket “Give what you can, take what you need”. Du er derfor velkommen til å samtidig forsyne deg med en bok, eller sette igjen en du vil dele videre. I det lille pantriet kan man sette igjen andre ting som man kan dele med reisende eller innbyggere.
Biblioteket er gratis å bruke. Derfor kan du på toppen av å finne cashen, også her - mellom tørrfiskhjeller, den renoverte væreiergården Catogården, koselige spisesteder som Gammelbua, Tapperiet og kaffebaren Bringen, - også finne andre eventyr og lokale opplevelser.
The Bacalao Book.
Vi har valgt å kalle denne cashen for The Bacalao Book, og du finner den nært, i eller rundt det lite gatebiblioteket.
Bacaclao betyr torsk på spansk og skreifisket i Lofoten har lang, internasjonal historie. 1000-tallet regnes som den perioden da tørrfisken for alvor slo gjennom internasjonalt, og selv den dag i dag eksporteres denne fantastiske råvaren rundt i verden til markeder som Italia, Portugal, England, Tyskland og, ja Spania m. fler. Med disse lange tradisjoner for internasjonal handel, er det kanskje ikke så rart at folket som bor på Moskenesøya er kjent for å være slikt godt vertsskap for tilreisende Geocashere og andre gjester til øyriket.

Reine mini library.
This charming little street library may at first glance look as if it has been there for a hundreds of years, or as long as the Lofoten fisheries has been going on. The library resembles a mini rorbu for spiritual replenishment.
“A beautiful rorbu in miniature format. With turf on the roof, small bookshelves and nice touches - like a gray vein, and a glass door from an old window." This is how the newspaper Lofot-tidende described the mini library in 2020.
The artist couple Fransiska and Henrik, who are the architects behind the building, have carefully collected pieces of planks and driftwood that have been washed ashore along the rocky outcrops of West Lofoten.
The library contains a book room and a pantry room marked "Give what you can, take what you need". You are therefore welcome to provide yourself with a book at the same time, or leave one that you want to share. In the small pantry, you can leave other things that you can share with visitors.
The library is free to use. Therefore, on top of finding the cash, you can also find other adventures and local experiences here - between dry fish tanks, the renovated cattle farm Catogården, cozy eateries such as Gammelbua, Tapperiet and the coffee bar Bringen.
The Bacalao Book.
We have chosen to call this cash The Bacalao Book, and you will find it near the small street library.
Bacaclao means cod in Spanish and scree fishing in Lofoten has a long, international history. The 11th century is considered to be the period when dried fish really broke through internationally, and even to this day this wonderful raw material is exported around the world to markets such as Italy, Portugal, England, Germany and, yes, Spain and more. And with these long traditions of international trade, it is perhaps not so surprising that the people who live on Moskenesøya are known for being such good hosts for visiting Geocachers and other tourists.-)
