The blueway here is surrounded by industrial parks and one urban village amongst them. The industrial parks & village were both new in the early 2000s, full of gleaming white exteriors and surrounded by spacious trimly landscaped lawns. A couple of decades later and all of the green lawns have been built over in a form of industrial densification.
Lotus Village, across the intersection to the northwest of the cache, as was typical of many urban villages saw rapid expansion in the 1990s and early 2000s. The village was still intact and functional in December 2019 but by late 2020 had been mostly demolished. The partially demolished village is still in a similar state 2 years later, with a handful of buildings still occupied, perhaps awaiting compensation.
Meanwhile the blueway construction proceeds apace and the connections through this area are mostly complete.
