EVANS COUNTY PFA GEOCACHING

Kick-Off Event

SAGE (Savannah Geocaching) placed a number of geocaches throughout the park with permission from the park manager for you to enjoy! So come out and find these caches and experience nature at its best.

This is the Kick-Off event to get you started on finding 17+ geocaches in and around this park. You can possibly score 9 icons in one day! There will be food, drinks, and desserts. Be there when we get geocaching started in Evans County PFA.

There is also going to be a drawing for door prizes!

Come out and join the fun in a beautiful nature area that did not have any geocaches at all.

Evans County PFA is part of the Department of Natural Resources Division

Evans County Public Fishing Area is a 372-acre area encompassing 3 separate lakes, each offering unique fishing and outdoor opportunities to visitors. Bidd Sands Lake is the largest lake and consists of large expanses of open water and areas with dense lily pads.

Bidd Sands offers excellent opportunities for Largemouth Bass, Crappie, Bream and Catfish. Lake Woody is a very “natural” lake with hardwood and cypress trees inhabiting most of its upper portion. Lake Longleaf is the smallest of the three lakes. Longleaf is intensively managed for Channel Catfish and is stocked several times each year and maintains an excellent fishery that is easily accessible from a fishing pier or from the bank.

In addition to the great fisheries, this PFA is home to a large RV and tent campground (14 RV/tent and 8 tent only sites), a Commercial-Kitchen Event Center and a Covered Pavilion available through the PFA on-line Reservation Service. There are also nature trails, an archery range and plenty of opportunities for bird/wildlife viewing. The  many geocaches placed here are a great opportunity to combine all your outdoor activities, making Evans County Public Fishing Area an excellent venue for everyone in the family to enjoy Georgia’s great outdoors.

To enter and enjoy this area, you need a fishing or hunting license or a land pass (a fishing license is the most economical). They are available online or at some of the various small or large stores at minimal cost. Seniors can get a lifetime license at no cost.
