Mein erster und kleiner "hin und mit" hier am wunderschönen Stadtweiher Kempten, der zu einer kleinen Runde in der Mittagspause oder auch unter Tags einladet. Besonders im Herbst ist der Rundweg um den Stadtweiher sehr zu empfehlen in der grandiosen Farbenpracht der Ahornbäume und Birken. Aber auch ein Biber treibt hier sein Unwesen, daher findet man so manches Gitter an den Baumstämmen zum Schutz vor ihm.
My first and small "sign and go" here at the beautiful Stadtweiher Kempten, which invites to a small round in the lunch break or even during the day. Especially in fall, the circuit around the pond is highly recommended in the magnificent colors of the maple trees and birches. But also a beaver is doing its mischief here, so you will find many a lattice on the tree trunks for protection from him.
Einst fuhr gegenüber vom Cache am südlichen Ufer am Bahndamm oben das Isny Bähnle über die Station Steufzgen am Stadtweiher vorbei und die Passagiere konnten einen schönen Blick vom Zug aus auf den Weiher genießen. Man kann sich richtig vorstellen wie in den frühen Jahren dieser Zuglinie die Dampflokomotive ihren Weg durch die verschneite Winterlandschaft den Weg Richtung Isny hochschnaupte. Viele Kemptener nutzten die Bahn damals auch um zum Skifahren ins schneereiche Buchenberg zu fahren.
Once opposite the cache on the southern bank at the railroad embankment above the Isny Bähnle drove past the railway station Steufzgen at the town pond and the passengers could enjoy a beautiful view from the train on the pond. You can really imagine how in the early years of this train line the steam locomotive snorted its way through the snowy winter landscape up the path towards Isny. Many people from Kempten also used the train at that time to go skiing in the snowy Buchenberg.
Leider wurde diese Linie zum Leid vieler Anwohner und Wanderer eingestellt und die Natur holt sich teilweise alles zurück. Wenigstens ist ein Teil der Strecke als Fahrrad- oder Wanderweg erhalten geblieben und die ein oder andere Stelle ladet zu Lost Place Erkundungen ein.
Unfortunately, this line was discontinued to the sadness of many local residents and hikers, and nature is partly reclaiming everything. At least part of the route has been preserved as a bike or hiking trail and one or the other place invites you to Lost Place explorations.
