This is a winter cache hidden on top of a mountain where snow stays around for a while.
It was a short snowshoe from the parking lot by the highway to the hide location. The easy route taken wound around through the trees following openings and what looked like snow covered old foot prints.
The route back was a bit longer and a bit more adventurous. Went a short distance up slope before cutting over, then finding a route down. Had to descend a couple of small side slopes between fallen trees to get on to flat terrain. Then it was an easy walk back to the car.
