Geocache Description:

FSKC (Former Settlement Kern County) No settlement coordinates listed on the internet.  The starting coordinates take you to the only surviving building from Tehichapa, now Tehachapi, where you will determine the coordinates to the final. Enjoy this museum and the one across the street as well as the adventure lab and historic walking tour.

Tehichipa is a former settlement in Kern CountyCalifornia. It was located on the railroad near Oak Creek Pass and Old Town.

Tehichipa, originally known as Williamsburg, was founded in 1869 by James Williams; while Williams originally named the town for himself, its name was changed to Tehichipa by 1872. The town was a shipping center for Owens Valley gold mines prior to the construction of a railroad in the area. However, when the Southern Pacific Railroad built a railroad in 1876, it bypassed Tehichipa, instead establishing a new town named "Tehachapi Summit". The railroad caused Tehachapi Summit to grow at Tehichipa's expense. Tehachapi Summit evolved into the city of Tehachapi, while Tehichipa ultimately died out. The only surviving building from Tehichipa, the Errea House, is now located in Tehachapi.

A post office operated at Tehichipa from 1869 to 1877, when the service was transferred to Old Town.

To solve the puzzle you will need to go to the posted coordinates, look at the plaque, the gate sign, the Errea House building and the different comemmorative bricks adjecent to the Errea House, enter the coordinates in the solution checker and, once confirmed, head to the final.

The Errea House Museum is across the street from the Tehachapi Museum. You may enjoy visiting the Tehachapi Museum after you're done, but nothing on that side of the street will help you with this cache. The property next door used to be part of the museum grounds, but no longer is.

All stages are wheelchair accessible. Enjoy this little puzzle.
