This extension of the trail from Tiffin, eventually connecting to Coralville was paved years before the public was allowed to use it due to the construction of the I80/I380 connection remodel. Trail may be closed, periodically, due to construction. Do not try to access cache from the Interstate, please, park at the provided waypoint. NOTE: Geocaching map shows a trail that goes from Westcor St to the trail. This trail is not built yet, so stick to provided parking waypoint. I will add parking waypoint when that trail extension is done.
Geocache Log #3
The third volume covers geocaches #228 to 390 from April 22nd, 2007 to September 21st, 2007. Only a few months but a very busy time in our lives. We cached as much as we could.
This time frame was a time of change. I had friends getting married and I was getting married this year. I worked at UIHC and took a traveling job every other weekend at Davis County Hospital to help cover the cost of this. I cached on my way home if there was enough light. Little bro headed off to Grad school in Utah in the late summer. One of the best moments caching was when we ran into Doc29. This was a doozy by C4C8.
I headed down to Florida for one of my buddies wedding. I picked up Jiiiim! and we cached our way down there. This was the birth of our idea of taking a ManTrip. My buddy Jay’s wedding was great! We also cache with him. It was on this trip that the story of Jiiiim, Roll Down Your Window... cache happened.
Before my brother left for Utah we went backpacking in Shimek State Forest and geocached.
And finally, the one story I tell the most from this book is when I went for a FTF. I parked near GZ which was on a bridge. I got halfway from my parking spot when I realized that I left the pen in the car. I turned around to grab it. Two people on bikes went by me. I got to GZ to find the two people with the cache. It was Mole Trap & Tooth Fairy. We chatted and I missed the FTF by seconds.
No new equipment, just lots of adventures. On to Volume #4!
