Geocache Description:

Public park, well marked trails, 2-part cache.

This cache is called "Centennial Cache" in honor of my friend, Ranger Rick and all the other geocachers who have reached the goal of finding 100 Connecticut caches. Centennial Cache was a two part cache but because of difficulty in finding the first cache holding the coordinates for the final cache I am providing the coordinates to the final cache here: N41 34.578 W072 54.580. The cache is located in Panthorn Park (entrance at coordinates N41 34.078 W072 54.929). I recommend parking on the left behind the tennis courts. There is a good trail system in the park and the cache is designed to take you through the park. Starting contents are: log book and pencil, baseball cards, solar calculators, rubber ball, pool cue chalk, telephone extension cord, tube of super glue, hot wheels car, wooden nickle and a USA 1900 Barber Half Dollar to represent the feat of 100+ caches. The final cache is near a trail but you may need to hunt a little to find the right trail to cross the canal. There is no need to get wet or to do a lot of bushwacking.
