How we met: We met in the summer of 1989. Jim visited a coworker of his named Shirley at her home. Shirley happened to be Sandras ex Sister-in-law. Jim saw a high school graduation picture of Sandra on Shirleys wall & asked who that girl was. Just as Jim & Shirley were talking about Sandra she happened to call to chat with Shirley. Shirley mentioned she knew a really nice guy she'd like Sandra to meet & asked if she could pass along her phone number. The answer.... sure, so Shirley past along Sandras number to Jim. Sandra had given up on hearing from Jim but a few weeks later when he returned from visiting his grandparents in Florida for their 50th wedding anniversary Jim called & we chatted. We set up a blind date & the rest is history with many stories & adventures to tell.
The big day: We were living in California in 1993 & Valentines Day was approaching. We decided to drive over to Reno, Nevada & got married on February 14, 1993 at Cupids Chapel of Love. This tiny little chapel no longer stands. It was washed out by a flash flood many years later.
Statistics... to name a few of many over the yearas: 12 homes, 4 kids, 10 vehicles, 7 dogs, 5 cats, 4 hamsters, 2 leopard geckos, 2 bearded dragons, 2 parakeets, a couple of frogs, so many fish. Over the course of a 30+ miltary career for Jim in which Sandra was with him for the last 24 of those years there were way to many deployments with way to many missed birthdays & anniversaries to count on our journey toward our 30th wedding anniversary.
Come for awhile or stay the whole time. We'd love to see you & celebrate our 30th wedding anniversary with our geocaching friends. Please note if you're allergic: we do have dogs & cats which will be put away during the event.
