A straightforward meet and greet geocaching event. Come along and meet geofriends old and new!
The Old Horse is a former coaching inn overlooking Victoria Park. It is ten minutes walk from Leicester Railway Station and the 31 and 44 buses pass by, get off at St James the Greater 50 metres away. In the nineteenth century the inn had stabling for 60 horses*, now it has a car park and plenty of room for people.
If you have not been to a geocaching event before don't worry, you will be made most welcome, and if you don't know anyone when you arrive you will before you leave. Look for a guy of a certain age with a GPSr, a log sheet, a beard and white hair, hopefully surrounded by the wide range of ages, genders and types that is the geocaching community. As it will be May we might be in the garden, who knows? I will be there throughout the above time and maybe a bit before and after, feel free to come and go. There may be a newly published cache or two in the vicinity, probably not many as there are few available spots left nearby.
The pub is child-friendly. It serves food and of course drink, should you wish, but there is no obligation to buy anything.

*In the twenty-first century I wouldn't recommend coming by horse!
