Swan Lake Traditional Cache

The trumpet swans come to visit Heber Springs for the winter every year! They are beautiful creatures. This cache is at the public viewing area for them at Magness Lake. PLEASE be respectful of them if you come when they are here 🙏 

In the 1930s trumpeter swans were on the verge of going extinct with less than 70 left in the world. 
Thankfully conservation efforts were started before it was too late for the largest North American native bird, and by the 90s the first pair was spotted wintering in this little spot in Arkansas! They say this is their 31st consecutive year to winter here (2023)

Cache should be easy to find, it is in a typical cache hiding spot lol not across any fences
