I had designs on doing something fancy for my first hide, but I came across this spot and the idea that popped into my head was just too good to pass up. I hope you find it as funny as I did.
Being a geocacher involves a fair amount of noticing things out of the ordinary. Driving past this spot, my brain noticed that a particular street sign seemed out of place here. (Though of course, with a moment's hindsight, it makes perfect sense.) Of course, when your brain notices one thing, it notices many things, and the particular sequence of numbers on this sign spurred a memory of an old xkcd comic that a professor of mine had taped to his lab door. Do you see the connection? Well, even if you don't, I hope you enjoy my first foray into cache ownership.
This cache contains small parts which are easily lost. Please be careful in handling it and let me know if a part goes missing. Please replace carefully so that the magnet engages, not just so that the cache is sitting in place. While you're up here, check out Warm Springs Park, if you haven't done so already, and snag the pair of caches up there!
