The moist climate of Florida comes to the aid of the palm tree which soaks moisture within the bark of the oak tree and continues to grow. One can spot this inseparable couple in St. Augustine, Florida.
Welcome to the Marjorie Harris Carr Cross Florida Greenway Santos paved bike/walking trail that is approximately 16 or so miles in length and is divided into 4 Tract’s, Ross Prairie, Shangri-La, 49th Avenue and Santos. You can find camping at the Ross Prairie Trailhead, the Shangri-La Trailhead and the Santos Trailhead. The access time for the bike trail is from 8 am until sundown every day. This cache is located in the Shangri-La Tract. There are rest spots along the trail and the only facilities are at the trailheads. Bring water and snacks along with your other items.
This is Florida and you will see wildlife and find things that will sting, bite scratch, trip, poke or cause a rash. Along this paved trail there are emergency information markings painted in orange/yellow on the trail. It gives 911 as the number to call and the location you are at.
