Snuggled Bounce Traditional Cache

This cache has been archived.

Baron Max and Mrs. Max: Well, Snuggled Bounce must now be archived! Sad to say . . .

Our thanks to Geocachers labiesjake for sounding the alarm and to Slow and Velvet for confirming it's demise under the heavy hand of mechanized forest health.

Geocache Description:

Snuggled Bounce is located north of Lava Butte and less than 10 miles south of downtown Bend. It was one of the caches in the Bounce contest in September. Snuggled bounce can now be found by anyone.

After the contest frustrations of the Difficult Bounce, we just snuggled Bounce up to a log in the woods. There are still lots of old growth pines in this interesting part of the forest, so look around while you are searching. When you come to a clearing and can see Broken Top framed by two ponderosa pines silhouetted like a V for Victory, you are pretty close. The coordinates given should be spot-on.

Snuggled Bounce contains the usual trade goods including some from the original Bounce contest.

A travel bug has been added to the cache. (My name is “Bull Durable” and I have been out in BLM land too long. The steady diet of strange grasses have often been sparse and I have had to travel far in search of enough to eat and drink. Besides, I haven’t had much companionship and I’m really lonely. My new owner wants you to take me to friendly places to visit others and find plenty to eat and good water to drink. You can give me a squeeze to make me feel better.)

Note: You need not park along the highway and as always, mark your turns as you work your way to Snuggled Bounce. Remember, you have to get back home again. A high clearance vehicle is suggested but not required; you may decide to walk a little. When you return to Bend, the safest place to turn around on Highway 97, is at Lava Lands Visitors Center.

You should be able to find this cache in moderate levels of snow. Skis or better, snow shoes should work just fine.

As always, tell a Responsible Person where you are going, what you are doing, which rig you are taking and when you plan to return.
