Gretta the Green Tree Frog has been on a few adventures recently.
Last week she fell into a well that was 12 feet deep. To get out she managed to jump 3 feet at a time, but every time she jumped 3 feet, she fell back 2 feet. How many times did she have to jump to get out of the well?
After escaping the well Gretta hopped along the road and came across a calculator. Gretta typed in the numbers 1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9 and 10 into a calculator. What is the smallest number she typed into the calculator?
Gretta continued hopping along the road until she came across a copy of the Townsville Bulletin. Gretta flipped through it's pages and came across a riddle. It said: What four-legged animal can jump higher than a house? Gretta pondered the riddle and eventually came up with the answer. What do you think the answer was? How many letters are in the answer you came up with (it's one word)?
Gretta stopped by a house. She was about to enter the yard when she witnessed 5 kids catch 5 frogs in 5 minutes. This gave Gretta a huge fright as she had heard stories of people in France that like to dine on frogs. Gretta immediately leapt away and found herself thinking, "if 5 kids caught 5 frogs in 5 minutes, how long would it take one kid to catch one frog"?
Once Gretta had hopped out of sight of the children, she seen a sign that said, what is the next number in the sequence? 2, 3, 5, 9, 17, _? Gretta was quick to answer the question. What do you think the answer is?
Gretta started to grow a little weary from all the hopping around. So, she made her way up a tree and fell asleep on a branch. Gretta has decided to make this branch her home however she is becoming lonely. I made a little guest book (log sheet) for Gretta.
