Geocache Description:

The trailhead to these wonderful waterfalls is 6.1 miles from the Degrasse end of the road. You can find a new sign at the parking area letting you know you're at the trailhead to Rainbow Falls.

Once you've parked, you will take a nice trail through open hardwoods to a small footbridge. Once you're at the footbridge, pay attention and you can see some turnbuckles and other artifacts on the rocks. This was a raceway blasted out of the stone to divert water to power a mill. Once across the bridge, follow the herd trails to view the falls (I have included a reference point to show you our favorite viewing area of the falls).

Rainbow Falls gets its name because if you visit during a mid - morning sunny day, the sun makes a beautiful rainbow over the falls. You can visit these beautiful falls year round, however, if visiting in the wintertime (our favorite), be extra cautious near the falls as some of the mist and water turns to ice making it slippery.

This container was given to my daughter by the wonderful kdhusky and she decided to place it here. Although I am not 100% in love with the hide itself, it's what she wanted. It was easily accessible in the wintertime, however, it may be a little more difficult once vegetation grows back. GPS was a little bouncy, so I have included good hints to get you to the cache!
