Serpentine Greenway Pond Cito
Come join us Earth weekend at Serpentine Greenway Pond to help clean out the trash!
It breaks my heart to see the animals living in garbage so I've organized a 3rd CITO clean up at this location to give these animals better living conditions. There are a number of bird and duck species living here and at one time beavers resided here. You can still see remnants of the old dam they used to live in years ago! (I used to walk past the pond every morning to catch the bus when I was in college and would see them swimming) They always relocate the beavers but there are still plenty of wildlife living here.
The City of Surrey has given us permissions as well as donating garbage pickers and bags!
I will also be supplying gloves as well as refreshments!
Make sure to grab a ticket when you drop off your garbage bags as we will also have a draw at the end!
WHEN: April 23, 2023 / 10am - 12pm
(There are several entrance and parking points to this location, please check the photo for reference. I've pinpointed the access points/parking areas. There are multiple if you're coming on either 124th or 126th, between 72nd and 68th, most of the cul-de-sacs will be okay. If you're coming by transit, you'll most likely be coming from either the 301 or 319 bus that runs along 72nd at the top of the map and there is an easy access point for you friends as well!)
