If you are like me, you may have been walking through the forest and wondered about the different plants all around you? I've often wondered what the names of certain plants are and what they're uses could be.

 

One day while out walking the trails at Ganondagan I noticed engraved plaques along the trail that told the story of how the Native Americans used the different plants of the forest, the names they gave them, and how to identify much of them. I thought it was fantastic and learning about something out in the field, hands on, has always helped in my understanding of the subject.

 

To find this cache I invite you to walk the "Earth is Our Mother Trail" from the visitors center at Ganondagan State Historical site. Once you have completed the Adventure Lab, be sure to take note of the coordinates for this cache in the final completion message. 

 

I have marked parking coordinates and a place where you might find some of the plants described by the engravings. The geocache itself is hidden outside the state park, about half a mile from the parking lot. See if you can identify any plants along the way that we read about on the engraved plaques.
