Geocache Description:

Mount George is a beautiful and accessible location for a picnic or a bit of hiking. Lewis Firetrack is in the eastern side of the park, and is a lovely walk of various terrain. Come for a relaxing hills walk just 16km from the city centre, and grab some caches along the way.  You can access this series of caches through the fence into the eastern segment. For your benefit, I have not placed any caches in this series outside this ring of eastern fencing, so don't be tempted to cross it.  Have fun, and most of all, enjoy your walk, and stay safe. Tell someone where you are going, and what time you will return.

This section of the park is surrounded by a tall fence. You can enter the eastern side using the gates near the Fire Water source.  Walking north beyond the summit you will run out of paths and you will traverse some of the remote sections of the park.

The Lewis Firetrack #7 cache will bring you into some wilderness, through the bracken, undulations, fallen timber and cobwebs to a beautiful cliff face. If you have trekked from #6, you will have been shepherded by the fence, and descended some steep declines. If you have come from the summit track, you will have enjoyed a nice meandering descent. The trees and terrain are peaceful and calming. If you find the one tree holding back the cliff, you will find the cache. Put ALL the lids back on tight, for the next cacher, as the last cacher did for you!

Feeling adventurous?  Leaving the area, or looking for a sneaky entrance.  Bonus experience can be achieved using the listed waypoint. There is a ?secure? locked gate that accomplished cachers can manage effectively. From this waypoint you will gain privileged access or egress. In a direct path to or from the cache, you will also experience the unique delight of Lewis Pond, a hidden gem. It was a bubbling OZGrumpy green at the time of placement, please describe it to me in your own words. Kangaroos are likely to observe you at some point, and you may encounter other creatures with leg counts of 100, 8, 4 or zero.
