Cache is located near junction of Dunning and Ramapo-Dunderberg trails in the Central part of Harriman Park.
Parking is available on Rt. 106 at 2 locations, where White Bar Tr. or Ramapo-Dunderberg trails cross Rd. Many nice loop hikes can be made in this area with Ny/Nj trail conf maps. This cache is well off trails and has one of the best Views in Harriman Park, pack a lunch and enjoy. In the Fall of 2001 a fire swept through this area, the result of careless illegal campers it was one of the worst in the parks history, thankfully mostly underbrush and dead wood burned but in some spots the Canopy was destroyed. Care must be taken in this area, in Summer I have seen many Rattlesnakes, in Winter the rocks can be very icy. Some of Cache Contents were rescued from The Overlook Cache in Shenandoah Ntl. Park Va., it had been destroyed by animals. Enjoy the hike.
