Halkokari on Kokkolan kaupunginosa, jossa sijaitsi vielä 1800 - luvulla vilkas satama. Muun muassa terva oli erittäin tärkeä vientituote. Vieläkin saatat haistaa ja nähdä tervan kalliolla. Tunnetuimpia tapahtumia on Halkokarin Kahakka. Siispä treffataan muistomerkin kupeessa.
