Geocache Description:

Enjoy a short hike thru a scenic little valley, in an Oak Savannah relic. You can see evidence of past prairie fires on some of the trees. The oaks are fire resistant so the fires helped them by clearing out some of the brush. As is common in areas near past farms, there is some "retired" equipment parked out in the woods which is interesting to see these signs of how agriculture was done in the past. There is a pretty clear path through the middle of the valley that you can follow and the cache is not too far off the path. The area is popular, at times, with walkers, dog-walkers and hunters. During hunting seasons it's helpful to wear an orange hat for visibility. Enjoy the find and the area.

The Geocache Notification Form has been submitted to the Wisconsin DNR land manager, Julie Widholm. Geocaches placed on Wisconsin Department of Natural Resource managed lands require permission by means notification form 2500-118.
