How Geocaching Works

Geocache Description:

Stage one is a Near Field Communications tag. You will need a phone capable of reading NFC tags. I use a Galaxy A13 and it works. In case there is any question, the TOTT you'll need is a phone that can read an NFC tag. My Garmin GPSMAP64 would NOT read the NFC tag.

Here is the procedure. Step ONE, go to settings and turn ON or ENABLE NFC. It is probably in the CONNECTIONS menu. Step TWO, bring the tag into contact with your phone. It will probably work best on the back of the phone. You may have to move the NFC tag around a bit to find the sweet spot. Step THREE, your phone should "ding" when it reads the tag and display the information. I didn't need a special app to read the tag, it just appeared. However, your phone may require an app. Since I'm not a cell phone expert, I will not categorically state that an app is or is not required.

This is a "proof of concept" geocache. I am testing durability, accessibility, and ease of implementation. Comments are welcome. Please send a message through gcDOTcom of any thoughts to make it better or any problems that occurred.
