Marvin the Paranoid Android is a fictional character in The Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy series by Douglas Adams. Marvin is the ship's robot aboard the starship Heart of Gold. Originally built as one of many failed prototypes of Sirius Cybernetics Corporation's GPP (Genuine People Personalities) technology, Marvin is afflicted with severe depression and boredom, in part because he has a "brain the size of a planet"[1] which he is seldom, if ever, given the chance to use. Instead, the crew request him merely to carry out mundane jobs such as "opening the door". Indeed, the true horror of Marvin's existence is that no task he could be given would occupy even the tiniest fraction of his vast intellect. Marvin claims he is 50,000 times more intelligent than a human[2] (or 30 billion times more intelligent than a live mattress), though this is, if anything, an underestimation. When kidnapped by the bellicose Krikkit robots and tied to the interfaces of their intelligent war computer, Marvin simultaneously manages to plan the entire planet's military strategy, solve "all of the major mathematical, physical, chemical, biological, sociological, philosophical, etymological, meteorological and psychological problems of the Universe, except his own, three times over", and compose a number of lullabies. The Final Cache : The cache you are seeking is constructed has two locked compartments. One compartment contains trade items only and has a 3 digit combination lock. It can be opened using the "Babel Fish code" illustrated below. The trade items are clearly marked and some do contain log strips. These are not the logs to sign to claim your "Found it"
The second compartment is locked with a digital combination lock and contains the Official Log for this cache which you must sign/date in order to post an on-line found-it log. It also contains some clearly marked trade items. The "first Finder" of this cache may choose an item as their "FTF Prize". The combination to the lock is 8 digets long. You need to solve this field puzzle to gain access to this compartment. "MARVIN" is the key to the puzzle.
The Posted Co-ordinates : You must visit the posted co-ordinates and using a chirp enabled GPS you will recieve the co-ordinates to the final cache location. You will also recieve a hint on how to solve the field puzzel at the final. Please take note of the hint. If you don't have a chirp GPS you may wish to enlist the help of a friend who does or borrow a chirp GPS.
