Thrill on Strawberry Hill Traditional Cache

You'll find this cache by taking the old road from the gate.  After .02 of a mile a trail takes off left, then about .01 along a trail takes off right.  Taking the trail right it climbs the ridge through nice second growth forest.  We stayed left at all trail forks and topped out around a couple of flat rocky outcrops.  There's a large flat area here where further along you can continue for a longer loop that eventually heads back down to the original trail, or like us take the shorter loop down the ridge closer to Lake Whatcom.  There's decent filtered views of the lake and surrounding mountains along the flat area which is also a good place to hide a geocache!  It's a large plastic container with log and a kids toy for exchanges.  There is a sharp dropoff so hold little hands.  The short loop is 1.2 miles and the longer 2 miles with about 200 feet of gain.  The trailhead is on the right off Lake Whatcom Blvd. just past Strawberry Point street.  There's parking for two or three cars at the gate.
