When we moved to Denmark I left all my friends behind. I didn't know anyone and other kids didn't want to play with me because I couldn't speak Danish. But one day, while walking through the forest I found a tiny door at the foot of an old tree. It was a nisse hus, a gnome house, and what a house it was!
Seven cheeky gnomes lived in it and they were always busy cooking jam, tending to their garden and of course, playing pranks. I visited everyday and we became friends and companions.
Legend has it that only special people can find them, or rather, they choose the people who find them, and once they open their door for you, you can always come back and play.
Then we returned to Singapore. I was very happy to move back, but I was also sad because I didn't want to leave my tiny friends behind. So I proposed: do you want to come with me to Singapore? It's nice, it's sunny and there are lots of old crusty trees too.
Nowadays I don't see them much. I'm busy with school, caches, new friends and such. But I know they are nearby and I can always go back and their door will be open. Would you like to meet them? If you promise to keep the secret I can tell you how to find them, but it's up to them to invite you in.
Follow the street of the turtles from the start point in the direction of Santa's house, right by the enchanted garden. The garden has a secret creek, say hi to the happy fishies that live in it and they will tell you that you are on the correct side of the road. Continue in the same direction until you meet The Green Wizard and his (invisible) zebras. If you summon him, they will take you to the other side, where the old trees live. You are so close! Do you hear them laugh?
Edit: The area around GZ has changed a lot since we planted this cache, so we feel the need to add some new clues for clarity. Final is about 200 meters away from the start point, near the entrance of a beautiful heritage school/construction site. The cache was an open secret among the preschoolers there, who loved to visit the gnomes and sign the original logbook 🥰
Now this is the site of a new housing development and instead of little kids and maple leaves you will see lots of hard yellow hats. We do not know if the school building or at least parts of it will stay, but the magic remains with the rest of the hide and the beautiful memories.
