Do Not Enter When Flooded
Washes flow all through Tucson. Water rolls off of streets and landscape, and into the lower lying areas that wind through our city. It's an opportunity to see how human-built habitat and natural spaces collide. This is the Alvernon Wash, which joins with the Columbus Wash before empytying into the Rillitio River. It provides habitat, shade, and migration routes to numerous fauna and flora. I'm this case, it flows right through Alvernon Park and creates a natural space for this neighborhood
You don't need to enter the wash to find this cache, and you definitely shouldn't enter if there is water flowing. Be smart and safe!
