Do Not Enter When Flooded, But Different - Christmas Wash
This one is a creative take on this series. This artful roundabout at the intersection of Miramonte and 3rd Street Bike Boulevard represents a wash with mountains and rain. Miramonte Street cuts through the middle of the Christmas Wash Watershed. The rainwater drains underground and flows north to empty into the Rillito River. You'll see the drainage grate across the street just south of here. You may also notice that the street is lower in the middle to encourage drainage of rainwater away from the curbs.
This is a beautiful intersection and a sweet place to bike through.
You don't need to enter the wash or the round about to find this cache, and you definitely shouldn't enter if there is water flowing. Be smart and safe!
