Geocache Description:

Foster City has two drains. Why? The city was built on wetlands at sea level. The lagoons of Foster City are part of a brilliant flood water abatement plan. Extra rain flows off the land into the lagoons. When the rains are expected, the Foster City engineers will lower the lagoon water level during low tide. One of those spots is close by with valves leading into Angelo Slough and the San Francisco Bay. This cache is along the Bay Trail that has just been renovated. Take a moment to stop and relax with the shore birds flitting about. If you are calm you may see Egrets, Herons, and Cormorants close by.
