Randy Dickinson, a very prominent local AccessAbility Advocate and Member of the Order of Canada, will be on hand to say a few words. By way of introduction here is a quote from his Member of the Order of Canada citation.
" Awarded on: April 15, 1999
Invested on: September 23, 1999
He is a leader in the drive to enhance the quality of life for persons with physical and developmental disabilities. Executive Director of the New Brunswick Premier's Council on the Status of Disabled Persons, he is a trusted advisor to government and a tireless volunteer. By advocating for persons with disabilities and supporting their right to live autonomously, he has opened new avenues of access to innovative education and health care programs."
A 5 location Adventure Lab and a wheelchair accessible traditional cache will be placed along the Ability Trail in the days prior to the event. At this point we are uncertain as to how far in advance that will be so Log your Will Attends early and stay tuned for Announcements.
This event will be open to the public and we are hoping to draw a large crowd of non-geocachers. After Mr Dickinson speaks we will give a brief introduction to Adventure Labs and traditional caching. And then that's where you come in. Please spread the word about this event to both Muggle and Geocaching friends. It is our hope that all geocachers in attendance will be prepared to devote some time to taking non geocachers out to do the Adventure Lab and find the traditional cache. In your Will Attend please indicate how long and what time period you are willing to help out.
All attendees will receive a ballot for draw prizes. Attendees can earn one extra ballot by doing the Adventure Lab, another for finding the traditional cache and another for bringing pull-tabs from cans ( several organizations will take them to metal recyclers to earn money that is used to buy Accessibilty Equipment). Geocachers can earn an extra ballot for staying for the full 2 hours.
Wow, now all we have to do is come up with some Fabulous ( non expensive, maybe donated ? prizes)
Looking forward to seeing you!
