This cache is on the Golden Bay Track, which is a walking track that links Golden Bay with Deep Bay and is an easy route on a gravelled track that takes around 1 - 1.5 hours. The cache is about half way around the track and can be reached from the track. You do NOT need to leave the track to reach and please do not touch the rat traps,
The well maintained track winds it's way around the coast with a large number of steps to climb up and day with scenic views of Paterson Inlet, Ulva Island and Deep Bay. Listen and look out for the myriad of birds including Kaka and Tui which make the native bush with jurassic park type trees their home. There is a picnic table at Deep Bay and it is a magic place for lunch on a calm day. You start at either the Golden Bay or Deep Bay end. If starting from Golden Bay, continue onto Deep Bay, Ringaringa Beach and the Revend Wohlers Monument or take the Peterson Hill track back to Oban
