HOGs do it in the dark! A group night hike
Where: meet up in the parking lot at the coordinates at dusk. We will have a brief meet and greet, and at the conclusion of the event, those who choose to join us can participate in a night hike. We will leave as soon as it is dark enough to see the fire tacks, and as a group we will tackle the night cache that, coincidentally, is nearby (and any other caches we will pass on our journey). We will have the CO, Long Lost Cacher, along with us for the adventure!
Who? This event is recommended for anyone who loves night hikes and/or wants to learn more about caching at night. Even if you have already found the night cache before, you are still welcome to join us for the fun, adventure and prizes!
If you choose to join us for the night hike portion, what to wear/bring:
- Dress for hiking outside at night for at least a couple hours.
- Hiking boots, if you have them! Hydration! Bug spray! A strong flashlight or headlight is a MUST! Your cell phone flashlight probably won't be enough.
When: Friday, July 14, 8:45 PM. The hike will set off as soon the event has concluded, and it is dark enough to see the fire tacks. RAIN DATE: If the weather isn't favorable Friday night, we will try again Saturday, July 15 at 8:45 PM. If the weather is projected to be bad both nights, the event will be rescheduled.
Come wallow with HOG after dark! Glow sticks and glow necklaces will be provided to add to the festivity! We will also have themed prizes throughout the night, and a 50/50 raffle (helps fund future HOG fun).
