Geocache Description:

This Cache is placed as part of the 2023 Taconic Region Geocaching Challenge. Please see HH 1 for more information.  This stamp is NOT a trade item, nor is the special pencil.

About this cache: This cache is located just West of the trail. In the 1870s, Newburgher Homer Ramsdell purchased portions of the point.
The point had an easy connection to the railroad and had rich deposits of sand and clay, which made it a prime location for brick manufacturing. Denning’s Point Brick Works began operation in 1881 and was producing over 17 million bricks annually by 1904. Many bricks are still scattered around the point, featuring the DPBW engraving.
