Geocache Description:

Cache is not at posted coordinates. You won't find it at the 'Great Lawn' or anywhere else that requires entrance to the Arboretum. Also, you don't need to handle any of the JCRA plants in order to snag this bonus, so please admire the flora without touching. Thanks 🙂

I hope you enjoyed the JC Raulston Arboretum Adventure Lab!

I was on the fence about including a bonus cache but decided it would be worth the extra effort just to add a little bit more fun. Plus, there are simply SO many educational signs with SO much interesting information to learn, it'd be a shame not to help you get to know the Arboretum all the better by sending you searching in every possible corner of this glorious oasis!

To get credit for finding this cache, please make sure to bring a pen and sign the physical log. Also, please place the container back exactly as you found it.

Congratulations to elisaraptor and Kurziosaurus for earning FTF honors!!

My description from the AL goes a little something like this. As these are companion caches, I figure it bears repeating 🙂

Welcome to the JC Raulston Arboretum!

To complete this Adventure Lab, you'll visit five stops around the 10-acre garden to learn about different types of flora and fauna from a variety of climates and regions.

You'll need to visit just a few extra signs to collect all five clues for the bonus cache:

GCA8433

There is no admission charge. Please be mindful of the hours of operation and respectful of the grounds.

Mon-Fri: 9:00am-4:30pm

Sat-Sun: 10:00am-5:00pm

I'd recommend picking-up a brochure, which includes a map, when you arrive.

According the website:
"The JC Raulston Arboretum is a nationally acclaimed garden with one of the largest and most diverse collections of landscape plants adapted for landscape use in the Southeast."

The Arboretum's founder, Dr. Raulston, loved Japanese Maples and had an unofficial goal of having one within viewing range of every spot in the arboretum.

Also, be sure to check-out the amazing painted art poles!
