As a Geocacher, building a geocaching container and receiving positive comments on a find can be incredibly rewarding. It is a testament to your creativity, ingenuity, and hard work, and it shows that you are making a meaningful contribution to the geocaching community.
When other geocachers find your cache and leave positive comments, it can be a real inspiration to create and place more caches, as well as a sense of accomplishment. It is gratifying to know that other people appreciate your efforts and are enjoying the experience you have created.
In addition, earning favourite points (FP) can be particularly rewarding. FP are a way for geocachers to indicate which caches they think are particularly outstanding or memorable, and earning them is a sign that your cache is truly special. FP can also help your cache stand out to other geocachers, making it more likely that they will seek it out and leave positive comments of their own.
Join me for workshop to talk about your favourite cache designs and ideas, as well as creative listings and designs. Come and share your ideas & come and learn from fellow geocachers, while enjoying a hot cup of coffee during a cold Cape Town winter….
What you will learn from the event - Building a geocache, the critical facts to keep in mind:
- Location: The location of your geocache is essential. Learn and share ideas on how to choose a unique and relevant spot, like a park or a landmark.
- Uniqueness: Learn and share how to make your cache unique by adding a quirk or fun twist to it. The more creative you are, the more likely people will want to find it.
- Container and camouflage: Learn and share ideas about the different containers that suits the purpose, camouflaged to make it harder to find, the recycling of household material to build a cache container, as well as other tips and tricks of the trade…

Please note that there is parking and it is free, the food and drinks however is at your own cost.
