Cristate or “crested” saguaros form when the cells in the growing stem begin to divide outward, rather than in the circular pattern of a normal cactus.
Posted coordinates will take you to a good spot to park, but solve puzzle for the final coordinates, which is close by, cache is small container, room for small trades. This is not the only cristate in this area.

This cache is on State Trust Land:
By agreement with the city of Marana, no permit is needed to hike the trails, but to leave the trail, as is necessary to find this cache, it is best to have a permit.
The State Land Department has no problem with this activity, but we ask that participants know the following:
