Geocache Description:


This Cache is placed as part of the 2023 Taconic Region Geocaching Challenge. The NYS Parks Saratoga-Capital Region and the Central Region will be hosting a similar challenge. Find 45 challenge caches in the Taconic Region and stamp your passport to earn a trackable geo-coin. Ten caches found in the Sara-Cap and/or Central Region Challenge can be used toward the Taconic Challenge.  This cache contains a unique stamp which must stay with the cache.  Use this stamp to mark your passport.  This stamp is NOT a trade item.

About this series:  Get to know the Governors of New York State

About this cache: George Clinton was the first governor of New York (1777-1795) and served again from 1801-1804.  He also served as the fourth Vice President of the United States from 1805 until his death in 1812.  He was born in Little Britain, an area near current-day New Windsor (Orange County).
