The rock formations all around the historic site were crucial to both the French and British in terms of providing firm fort foundations and stone for building.
The rock formations are important for locating this cache too. In this case, they are beyond the picnic area, behind the pavilion. You do not have to walk far from the parking coordinates this cache. Please watch carefully for poison ivy in spots, growing along the short journey. You do not need to descend down rocks much, either.
This cache is not part of the 2023 NYS Parks Saratoga/Capital District Regional Geocache Challenge. It has been placed for your geocaching pleasure. Enjoy!
