This no through road was cut off by the building of the Bourton and Zeals bypass in 1992. Following the footpath north across the A303 brings you to the hamlet of Queen Oak, part of Silton but accessed from Zeals. In the 19th century, flax grown in Silton was brought to this south-facing hill for drying, before returning to the river Stour for processing into linen, at a now lost settlement near Wyndham Farm.
