McLean Coiunty Fairgrounds, Underwood, ND
Fairs have been held in Underwood since 1905. But the modern era of the fair started in 1957. Underwood was chosen to host the McLean County Fair due to its central location in the county and available land. There are several buildings are on the grounds that highlight 4-H and FFA achievements.
Also on the fairgrounds is the McLean County Speedway. In 1992, after a 16 year hiatus, a group of racing fans got the race track up and running again.
Today the fair provides "good clean fun" to the people of the McLean county. There is a midway carnival, club achievements, music, free food, car racing, and judging of home economics, livestock, school, handicrafts and 4-H and FFA projects.
