Geocache Description:

This cache is part of a new series of mystery caches located along the trail to Moose Pond. The cache is not at the listed location. You will need to solve a fairly simple puzzle to get the actual coordinates for the cache. To solve this puzzle, you need to find the coordinates of a famous fly-fishing river that are hidden somewhere on this page. Enter these coordinates in Google Maps or similar map program and look for the name of the River. You will then enter the name of the River, and the full name (no abbreviations) of the state in which it is located into Puzzle-Checker. If the river is not located in the US, enter the country instead of the state. For example, if the river is the Saranac River, your answer is SaranacRiverNewYork (No Spaces). Submit this answer to Puzzle-Checker, and you will receive the actual coordinates, and possibly a hint to find the cache.

The rivers in this state are not shown in Google Maps or other mapping programs. To get the answer for this puzzle you will need to enter the hidden coordinates into Google Maps. The coordinates will be near a point of interest on the map. Click on the POI and in the window that appears look for the mailing address. This address has the name of the river.

This is another world class river. We called it River X because we didn't want to mention the name of this river to anyone. I floated this river 2 times in the late 1970s. It is approximately a 100-mile float from the lake where the river begins to the ocean. We spent 10 days, on our trips, and could easily have taken longer. Back when I floated it, we never saw another person on the river. Unfortunately it is no longer like that. The river is beautiful, and is a fairly easy float with no real dangerous water. You can catch lake trout in the headwater lake, and then beautiful rainbows. As you go down the river you catch many types of pacific salmon. Kings first, then Reds and finally Silvers. Rainbow trout, Grayling, and Dolly Varden trout were in the entire length of the river. I floated this one time with my parents, and a couple of their friends. What an amazing time we had. The scenery was beautiful and the fishing was amazing!
