I will bring some creative caches, some gadgets and maybe a few surprises.
Let's discuss how we can make caches more appealing, more fun and all around
MAGICAL!
Maybe we will devise a Geocaching Book of Shadows for future cache hide plans.
Maybe, I will be productive and we may even play with a craft and make one on site.
Come with your ideas on how to create CACHE MAGIC
ABRACADABRA.....MAGIC will happen.
My slated agenda for 60 minutes of Education, Let's answer the following:
* Do magical caches have to be complex and made by Engineers? (hint: NO)
* What makes a gadget cache? Does it have to be programmed and electronic? (hint: NO)
* Show and tell: I have a creative bison hide, a simple electronic cache and a complex programmed cache game. Let's go over how each of these were made and what knowledge / skills are needed to make one yourself. We will also view a few 3D printed cache hides
* Hands on practice: I have extra LEDs, wire connectors, battery boxes and hardware. BRING 1 plastic ammo can (or other drillable container, plastic junction box etc). We will pull together a simple electronic cache container that can be used in a creative hide.
* FINAL EXAM: You're cache is made....now, how do you obtain accurate coordinates in a suitable area for a safe / fun cache hide? Let's discuss phone vs GPSr coordinates and good vs bad hiding locales.
* EXTRA CREDIT: The public facing cache page. How do you write up a cache page suitable for ALL ages, to garner interest in your cache hide, and maybe earn a Favorite Point?
