A Fine Pair # 1759 ~ Port Ramsay, Lismore Island Traditional Cache

Number 1759 in a series of caches where a red telephone box is in close proximity to a post box.

The only rules are that they have to be able to be photographed together, be not more than 100’ apart and the phone boxes have to be red.

You can access the island via the foot passenger ferry from Port Appin - it allows bikes and runs hourly throughout the day. Information can be found HERE. Or you can take the car (spaces are very limited so you MUST pre-book) on the CalMac ferry from Oban, information HERE. Camper vans would need a special permit to be on the island.

Follow the signposted, single track road to Port Ramsey. There is just about room for a car to do a 3 point turn at the very end of the road. Lovely little bay and if you consult tide timetables, at low tide you can walk out onto the little island in the bay. I was quite surprised to find a Fine Pair here, with both red boxes fully functioning.
