Tunaparken
In 1868, a large yellow brick villa with pinnacles and towers was built for Bishop Thomander in what is today Tunaparken. The villa called "Tuna Castle" was designed by Helgo Zettervall. The villa was used for a time as an emergency shelter and as an orphanage for refugee children during the second world war but was also uninhabited for many years. The dilapidated house was demolished in 1948, and in 1955 the park became public parkland. The extent of the castle is marked adjacent to the rose garden.
Today a castle-themed playground can be found in Tunaparken surrounded by beautiful gardens. Enjoy!
