Cambodia is one of most heavily contaminated countries in the world, with landmines, cluster munitions and other unexploded weapons. There is still an average of one death or injury every week in Cambodia due to explosive items.
This geocache is situated just outside the NGO Apopo. Apopo trains African pouched rats to detect the smell of landmines and other explosives. In a little harnass, suncream on ears and tail, they help demining Cambodia and giving back land to the community. Therefore, they are called HeroRats.
One rat can check 200 m2 (2,200 sq ft) in around 20 minutes. We hope you can find this cache in less than 20 minutes. Have fun!
