棒道〜Peaceful Creek

棒道とは戦国時代に武田信玄が北信濃攻略のために開発した軍用道路といわれています。
八ヶ岳西麓をまっすぐ貫く棒道は上中下の三本あります。ここは一番上の道となり、現韮崎市穴山から始まり長野盆地へと接続していました。
棒道はいくつもの八ヶ岳の伏流水の小川を越えていきます。このあたりでせせらぎの音を聞きながらちょっと一休みするのも良いでしょう。

Stick road ~ Peaceful Creek

The stick road is said to be a military road developed by Shingen Takeda to capture Kita Shinano during the Warring States period.
There are three stick roads, upper, middle and lower, that run straight through the western foot of Yatsugatake. This was the top road, starting from Anayama, Nirasaki City, and connecting to the Nagano Basin.
The trail crosses a number of streams fed by the subterranean waters of the Yatsugatake Mountains. It is a good idea to take a break here and listen to the sound of the streams.
