Geocache Description:

The Tenpakugawa River (天白川) is a river that flows from Nisshin City, Aichi Prefecture through Nagoya City and flows into Ise Bay. It is the main stream of the second-class water system Tenshirakawa.

The name is derived from the fact that "Tenhakujin" was enshrined in the "Aza Tenpaku" (the land just east of the Tenhaku Bridge on the old Tokaido) in Narumi-cho, Midori-ku, Nagoya City downstream.

The name of the Tenshira River was given only in the Meiji era, and until then it was called the Yonenogi River

(at the same time, the tributary that was called the Sha River was called the Ueda River).

At that time, in Ueda Village, Aichi County (present-day Ueda, Tenpaku-ku, Nagoya City),

both the Yonenogi River and the Sha River were called "Ueda River", and the names were arranged because they were confusing.

Floods have occurred frequently since the Edo period, and the flow path has changed many times.
