Nepco Park Boat Launch
In 1977, this 125-acre park was donated by Nekoosa Papers, Inc. to be used for public outdoor recreation. This park is located on the north side of 496-acre Nepco Lake. The park provides the only public boat landing available on the lake. The park features just over 1 mile of shoreline, which provides ample opportunities to shore fish.
Some other highlights include a beach area, playground, access paths, accessible fishing pier, and an enclosed, heated and/or air-conditioned shelter that is open to rent year-round.
One of the most popular attractions at the park is the nearly 10 miles of multi-use trails available. There are several loop trails totaling 4.5 miles that are used by many for hiking and cross-country skiing. Additionally, there are over 5 miles of single-track trails used for bicycling and snowshoeing.
Wood County has partnered with Consolidated Musky Club on several occasions to stock musky in Nepco Lake.
Bring your GPS, bike, geopup, snowshoes, skis, fishing pole, camera, and picnic supplies and make a day out of this wonderful park on the southern outskirts of Wisconsin Rapids. The oldest cache in Wood County is just a hop, skip and a jump from the hide location!
Be aware that you may have eyes on you as you search for this cache. The pavilion is popular as well as boats using the nearby boat launch. Please replace as found, as much out of sight as possible. This cache is designed to allow for the growth of its beacon. Do not overtighten it when replacing. All Wood County Parks require a pass. Please respect this to keep our areas maintained and open for all.
