Geocache Description:

Alternate title: "Who's Been Talking About Phi Lowly?"

Filoli isn't an Italian delicacy, and the cache is not at the posted coordinates. Bill and Lurline didn't build it for underwater caching.

Filoli was actually built in 1917 for William Bowers Bourn II, an extremely wealthy gold miner, who later became the president of the Spring Valley Water Company. The name of the estate is an acronym of William Bourn's credo: "Fight for a just cause; Love your fellow man; Live a good life" (Fight, Love, Live --> Fi, Lo, Li).

Later on, in 1936, after William and his wife Agnes both passed away, the estate was sold to a different William, William Roth, and his wife Lurline. They added several more gardens, the swimming pool, and the teahouse. Lurline donated the whole estate to the National Trust for Historic Preservation in 1975

But instead of doing a Wikipedia research puzzle about the history of the estate, I opted for a more creative and far simpler Filoli-based one. N 37° 28.FIL W 122° 18.OLI
